At MOCA Health, the care process is divided into two connected parts: the clinical side and the dispensing side. This separation ensures that patients receive professional medical oversight while also enjoying simple, secure access to their medications.
Clinical Consultations
All doctors working with MOCA Health are independent practitioners who have completed MOCA’s training in cannabis prescribing protocols, safe dosing, and TGA compliance. Patients meet their practitioner through Halaxy, a secure telehealth system that manages bookings, intake forms, and payments while protecting personal information.
Your first appointment is booked online at booking.mocahealth.com.au. After completing a short intake form (including medical history, Medicare details, and reason for seeking treatment), your doctor will call at the scheduled time for a 15-minute consultation. If suitable, a prescription is initiated, and the practitioner submits a TGA Special Access Scheme (SAS) application. Approval typically takes 24–48 hours, after which the prescription is activated. Follow-up consultations are required for renewals or changes: THC prescriptions expire at 6 months, CBD at 12 months.
Dispensing Medications
Once approved, patients receive an email with login details for MOCA’s secure portal. Inside the portal, you can review prescriptions, purchase medications, and download resources such as titration guides or letters of attestation. Repeat prescriptions are managed directly in the portal and remain available until the script expires.
In summary: the clinic provides consultation, prescribing, and TGA approval, while the dispensary offers simple online access to medications, repeats, and resources.
